An Open Invitation
VanadiumBank is not yet a commercial operation. What we are is an active, well-resourced development initiative with a clear mission, a platform vision, and a genuine interest in engaging with the people and organizations who are working toward the same goal: making long-duration vanadium storage accessible at the scale the energy transition requires. The following areas represent where we are actively looking for collaboration, co-development, and constructive conversation.
We are open to conversations with VRFB project developers who are in early-stage planning or feasibility, particularly those working on projects where the electrolyte capital cost is a material obstacle to project viability. We are interested in understanding project economics, electrolyte volume requirements, site logistics, and the commercial structures that would make electrolyte leasing a workable proposition for both parties.
We are not in a position to provide project financing. We are in a position to explore whether future electrolyte leasing arrangements, structured as off-balance-sheet supply agreements, could help a project proceed that otherwise would not.
Who We Want to Hear From
Research collaboration is central to VanadiumBank's development approach. We are actively seeking academic and laboratory partners working on topics directly relevant to our platform, electrolyte formulation and stability at higher concentrations, electrode materials including graphene and BioGraphene-derived carbons, membrane development, lifecycle analysis methodology, and system integration modelling.
We bring the platform context, commercial motivation, and supply chain perspective. Our academic partners bring the scientific depth and experimental infrastructure. We are interested in both formal research collaboration agreements and informal dialogue that informs our development direction.
Who We Want to Hear From
Governments and development agencies with clean energy storage mandates are natural institutional partners for the VanadiumBank platform development phase. We are interested in engaging with:
We are not seeking public equity investment. We are seeking mandate alignment, regulatory dialogue, and in appropriate cases co-funding of research or demonstration activities that advance the platform's development.
For the VanadiumBank electrolyte bank to work, the VRFB systems that use our electrolyte must be technically compatible and commercially structured to accommodate a lease arrangement. We want to understand, from manufacturers directly, what that means in practice: how electrolyte custody changes the commissioning and service model, what specification standards they work to, and what commercial structures are compatible with their market approach.
We are not seeking to qualify a single manufacturer. We are building a compatibility framework that works across a range of architectures and commercial models.
The electrolyte bank depends on a qualified, diversified supply chain. We are in early dialogue with vanadium producers, chemical processors, logistics operators, and container manufacturers. We are also interested in conversations with organizations that bring adjacent capabilities, analytical laboratories for batch testing, field service operators for electrolyte handling at project sites, and engineering consultancies with VRFB or flow chemistry experience.
Beyond the core electrolyte banking platform, VanadiumBank is interested in a range of special project contexts where VRFB storage plays a distinctive role, applications where the combination of long duration, non-flammable chemistry, zero degradation, and our eventual leasing model creates a compelling value case that no other storage technology can match.
Current areas of special project interest include:
If you are working on a project that doesn't fit neatly into the categories above but where you think VanadiumBank's direction and interests might be relevant, we want to hear about it. Reach out through the Contact page.
If your work touches VRFB deployment, research, supply chain development, policy, project finance or long-duration energy storage, VanadiumBank would welcome the opportunity to hear from you.
